Movement is expressed in this scene through expressive and energised brushstrokes which depict the otters engaged in their own individual activity. Each Otter has its own unique pose, and I was attracted to the lovely shapes they make as individuals and as a collective. The Blue base colour filters through brushstrokes and edges of the canvas unifying the painting as a whole. Strong colours also promote marks and shapes.
